Talakad Temple, River Kaveri

Every 12 years, Pilgrims come to Talakad on the banks of River Kaveri to participate in the Panchalinga Darshana. They first bathe in the Gokarna theertham and then worship Gokarneswara, Chandikadevi, and Vaidyeshwara. A dip in Kaveri river is followed by worship at Arkeshwara, Pataleshwara, Maraleshwara and Mallikarjuna. Kirtinarayana is the final worship point in this elaborate ritual followed by pilgrims.
